Other important advantage of v-curves is exact approximation of ideal curves of a kind of conic curves (circles, parabolas, hyperboles, straight lines).
Due to function of isogeometrical and exact approximation of v-curves / surfaces by b-spline curves / surfaces of high degrees (up to 10!), the system becomes the unique tool for modeling of curves / surfaces of the highest quality.
For the analysis of quality of a modeled curve / surfaces in system function of testing of geometrical characteristics of curve / surfaces is submitted. For curves characteristics of curvature are displayed.
For quality assurance of a modeled surface it is possible to display: lines on a surface with indication of curvature; areas on a surface with constant sign of curvature of lines on a surface, Gaussian curvature, arithmetic-mean curvature; maps of distribution of values of curvature on a surface (curvature of lines on a surface, Gaussian curvature, arithmetic-mean curvature).
The Application is as much as possible integrated in AutoCAD. With the help of the function of testing it is possible to investigate and geometrical characteristics of objects AutoCAD: spline polylines, a spline (NURBS), a quadratic spline on a 3d mesh, a cubic spline on a 3d mesh, a Bezier surface.
V-curves are converted in objects Spline (NURBS). After converting they are editable by command Spline.
The created v-curves / v-surfaces in format of b-spline curves / surfaces of degrees 4, 6, 8, 10 are edited by command PEDIT.
