Options Menu

Always on Top (Hotkey: Ctrl+T)

If this menu option is turned on, Magnifier will always remain above other windows, even if it is not focused (selected). This setting may get distorted if there are other windows configured for same behavior.

This option is available through the toolbar button as well.

Snap to Screen Edge

If this menu option is turned on, Magnifier window will snap to the edge of the screen while moved or resized near it.

Show Toolbar

Toggles the toolbar on and off. Since all toolbar options are available through the menus as well, you may want to remove the toolbar if you need Magnifier window to be as small as possible, yet with magnifying area large enough. Also, this may be useful if you always use Magnifier with the same settings or if you use it in your presentations.

Show Statusbar

Toggles the statusbar on and off. This may be useful for enlarging the magnifying area or if you simply do not need any of the information statusbar offers.

Statusbar contains the following information:

R: Red color component of the pixel under the mouse hotspot.
G: Green color component of the pixel under the mouse hotspot.
B: Blue color component of the pixel under the mouse hotspot.
X: Horizontal co-ordinate of the mouse hotspot.
Y: Vertical co-ordinate of the mouse hotspot.
f: Actual (measured) refreshing frequency.
Registration info: Registered user name.

Language

Desktop Magnifier directly supports three languages, available through this sub-menu:

English
Deutsch (German)
Français (French)

If your language is not listed above, you may look for the translation online. You need to download and run the Custom Language Files Installer. Afterwards, additional languages will be listed in this sub-menu.

Autostart with Windows

When checked, this menu option allows Desktop Magnifier to be launched automatically on every system startup and/or login.

As this requires adding of the appropriate key to the Windows Registry, it may not function correctly if some protective utilities are used or if an user does not have at least the Power User rights.

Autostart option can be set individually for each user.

Save Settings on Exit

If this option is enabled, all Magnifier settings will be saved upon exiting the application and re-applied on the next run. If you want to have the same settings every time you launch Desktop Magnifier, you should turn this option off.
