Switch Resolution
VividSwitcher does not add all of our resolutions to a list for temporarily switching, it is very hard to find a target resolution in a very large list, and actually when we need to switch, we always switch a same set of resolutions. So when the first time we run VividSwitcher, we need to add a favorite resolution set, and then every time we need to switch to a temporary resolution, we can find it immediately. Let's look at the screenshot:

Make a favorite resolution set
Every time VividSwitcher starts up, it will detect all available resolutions for us (Figure 1), it is a large list, but VividSwitcher groups them by their aspect ratios so it is not so hard to find our target resolutions. Double-clicking on a detected resolution adds it to the favorite list (Figure 2); Double-clicking on a favorite resolution removes it from the favorite list.
We can hold down Ctrl or Shift key to select multiple resolutions, and click on the add/remove button (Figure 3) to add multiple items at a time.
If a resolution exists in the favorite list, it appears as a grayed item, but we can still add grayed resolutions as many times as we wish.
Switch between resolutions
The buttons in Figure 4 are used for switching between favorite resolutions, select a resolution in the favorite list and then click on the gear button to switch to that resolution temporarily, click on the arrow button to exit from a temporary resolution.
If one day you replace your video adapter or monitor with a new one, the favorite resolutions you've added will be kept, but if one of them is not supported by your new video adapter or monitor, the item will appear as a red item (Figure 5). Switching to an unsupported resolution will be failed. |
