Firewall Configration

Warning: OLfolders will not work, if it is blocked by a firewall

OLfolders und OLfolders PE are network programs. Like any new network software you install at your computer they are blocked by personal firewalls until configured. Depending on what firewall you are running and in what mode, you may get a message if you start OLfolders the first time like the messages below.

If you select to block the new application, the firewall will not ask again, it will simply disable the network access from the OLfolders, thus making the server useless.

A firewall does not block the whole network, it blocks either computers (or IP-Ranges), programs or ports. If either the Port 20002 or the program OLfolders is blocked from having access, you will not be able to connect to the server.

Sample:

On the first start of OLfolders Server, you get the following dialog (or any similar to this). If you now click on "Block", "No" or similar OLfolders will refuse to work until you open the firewall configuration dialogs and allow OLfolders to work.
