Backup/Restore Database
This form allows you to create backup copies of program database and restore database from backup copies. It is depicted below:

By default backup copies are stored in BACKUP subdirectory of the directory where Advanced Wedding Organizer is installed. But we recommend to change backup directory to another. The best of all is to create backup directory on other physical or at least logical drive. You can change backup directory by means of Parameters form.
There are two types of backup copies:
Automatic copies are created each time you exit Advanced Wedding Organizer. Copies created within one day are overwritten by the newest copy so you will have one backup copy per day. Maximum number of automatic backup copies is limited in Parameters form. By default this value is 7. If number of automatic backup copies exceeds this limit the oldest copies are deleted. You can disable automatic copy creation in Parameters form.
To create a manual copy click on Backup Database button on the top site of this form. Number of manual backup copies is not limited. They are not deleted automatically. To delete such copy select it in the list of backup copies in this form and click on Delete Backup Copy button. Automatic copies can also be deleted manually.
List of backup copies contains automatic as well as manual backup copies. Backup copy has following attributes:
- Backup date and time
- Type
Attribute Backup date and time contains date of copy creation for automatic copies but date and time of copy creation for manual copies because only one automatic copy can be created per day while number of manual backup copies can be greater than one.
If you want to restore database from backup copy click on Restore Database button. Database will be restored from backup copy. You don't need restart Advanced Wedding Organizer to work with restored database. We recommend to create manual backup copy of the database before restoring it from backup copy. Otherwise current database state will be lost forever. |
