Add Picture or Receipt

Adding a photo or a receipt associated with your personal inventory item is quite simple:

Add Picture or Receipt

Procedure:

  • Import a photo to your computer using your camera or scanner software (see Specifications for file types HomeStuff supports).
  • Select your current item by clicking on an item found on the item list.
  • Click on the more button to expand your view of the current item.
  • Right-click on the View of Item/Receipt thumbnail to popup the context menu.
  • Click on the New Picture/New Receipt menu item to bring up the file open dialog.
  • Navigate to the directory where your camera or scanner software saved your photo.
  • Select the graphic file you would like to associate with the current item.

Notes:

  • The open file dialog, at least on Windows XP, will default to your personal documents. If you are adding several pictures or receipts in one HomeStuff session, HomeStuff will teach itself to return to the correct directory to select a second, third or more graphic files.
  • When using the open file dialogue, you can set the default view of the directory to show thumbnails instead of just file names and icons.
