Reports

The top three menu items are a shortcut to options available in the General Settings Tab. Each menu item toggles one of your reporting preferences. These menu items are provided to conveniently access these options.

Preview before printing (on/off): Toggles the use of the report viewer before printing. When set, this option will intercept all printing operations and provide you with a report viewer that carries its own printing features. When reset, HomeStuff will print the report directly to your printer using the usual print dialogues.

Suppress graphics (on/off): Suppresses the printing of graphics for reports invoked by the Current Item sub menu. When set, the "Item Detail" report will not print the photo associated with the item targeted by the report. When reset, this option will allow the graphic to appear on the report. This feature was added for users who do not have a printed capable of supporting high resolution graphics. This option would also be useful when you just want a quick report.

Use filters (on/off): When set, this option will cause the reporting functions to scan your selection of filters before generating a report. Using filters for reporting is a good way to generate reports against a specific group of items.

When you set the Location filter, HomeStuff will refresh the Item List and set your reporting view to show you only the items associated with the "Location" you selected. If you set a second filter like "Item Type", HomeStuff will display all items found in your location of your choice and the item type you selected.

Filters have a CUMULATIVE effect on the selection criteria. The Item List will will always display items that satisfy the selection criteria. When the Use filters option is set in your reports menu, the report will contain only those items that are visible in the Item List.

The Use filters feature only works for reports offered by the All Items menu described below.

Current Item: Two reports are available for the current item

• Print details and optional photo of current item.
• Print stored scan of receipt associated with current item.

  Summary by Description
  Summary by Item type
  Summary by Location

Export Items to CSV File: Exports the data file to a .CSV formatted text file. Use this .CSV file to import your data into another application like Excel.
