The HomeStuff directory structure allows you to backup your files with little or not thought given to questions like: Where are all the receipts located on disk? Where is my data file? HomeStuff will let you configure where you want to locate your repository of graphic files however, think about your backups before you decide to change the defaults. |

Backups |
We strongly recommend that you backup your files on a regular basis. Every computer user has to contend with the fact that computers will eventually break down. The information you record in HomeStuff is important information! We recommend that copies of your backups be kept off site, in a media rated fire safe or in a safe deposit box along with all of your other valuable documents.
Always keep your receipts. Originals are always better than copies. HomeStuff is not an alternative for saving your receipts. It is an alternative to having to file and index hundreds if not thousands of accumulated receipts.
