Crop Image
You can crop an image using the crop tool.
Enter the function:
Click the button 'Transform', then click the button 'Crop'.
The interface and the description:

In crop mode, the image window will show a white frame to indicate the region for crop. The outside part of the region is covered with half-black scan lines, which means this part will be deleted after crop. You can drag the icon to change the size of frame or, there are four white blocks on the left, right, top and bottom side of the frame, which are used to change the size too. To change the frame's position, drag inside the frame.
You may wonder about the four lines crossing in center and the rectangle with dotted line. They are the lines provided by Turbo Photo to help you re-composite the photo. The four cross lines are placed at the 'Golden position'(0.618), where is the best position for the main subject of a photo (e.g. The eyes of a portrait), and a dotted rectangle is placed to show the center 1/3 part of the photo.
The Icon in bottom-right means 'Crop it now!". means whether the proportion of the width and the height is locked or not. Click it, you will see a dialog like this:

Check 'Lock Proportion', the proportion will keep a constant while you change the size of crop-frame. Here the constant can be selected in the following combo box. e.g., when you want to print out a photo with size of 4x6 inches(6' photo), the proportion is 3:2 but the proportion of digital photo is 4:3(in most camera), so you need a crop operation and you can set the proportion to be locked at '3:2' here. The icon will be changed to after the proportion is locked. |
