Save

The relationship and difference between different file format is so complex to any beginner. When you try to save a file, you don't know which format is the right format, which format is a lossless format and which format can be opened on any system... No matter how, all of these issues can be solved in the save function of Turbo Photo.

Enter the function:

Click Save button on toolbar or from menu 'File - Save'.

The interface and the description:

The first step is selecting the purpose of save.

Save back to original file: Overwrite the old file with the new photo. If it is in JPG format, a high quality will be selected to prevent the loss of information.

Save for print: Turbo Photo will resample the photo to the best size for print and save it as a high quality JPEG file.

Save for web: If you want to use the photo in your web site or send it to your friends via email. The small file size and good quality is needed. Turbo Photo provides this visual able tool for you to optimize the image file easily.

Save for next editing: Tiff format, the lossless format with high compatibility will be selected.

Custom Save: Choose the file format and quality by yourself.

Double Click the icon or select 'Next' to enter the following steps:

If you choose 'Save for print', you will see:

Save for print

You can select 'Keep size unchanged' or the photo size and the resolution. Turbo Photo will resample it for you.

If you choose 'Save for web', you will see:

Save for web

Scheme: Predefined settings, you can choose one from the list of combo box.. Or save current settings as your scheme.

JPEG Quality: The higher quality brings less noise and distortion but larger file size; in contray, a smaller number means smaller file size but worse quality.

Highquality color: In default, JPEG will compress chroma channel more than luminance channel. Which will brings higher compression ratio with unnoticeable quality loss. But in some case this will blur the edge of sharp red objects, e.g red text or stamp. Check this option to avoid it or click 'Auto set' to find out whether the current photo need or not.

Include EXIF: The EXIF information will cost 2-15KB of file size. You can uncheck it to save more.

Adaptive Quantification: Use adaptive quantification table instead of standard JPEG table. This option may improve compression ratio alot, but may brings noticeable noise. Check it when small file size is very important than quality.

Optimize More: Try to compress more at the area where hard to be noticed by human eye.

Blur: Blur image before compressing to get higher compression ratio.

Image Size: Set image size limitation here.

File Size: Set file size limitation here.

Trade off rule: If file size exceed limits, you should either select shrink image size or low down quality. The program will do this automatically for you., and find out the best trade off point for you.
