Buffer

When you adjust the equalizer or any of the special effects, there is a time delay between the actual graphical adjustment made by you and the time it takes to hear the change you have made. This delay is caused by the natural time it takes the PC to process the changes in information presented to it, and the time it takes to convert these changes into sound.
The faster your PC the faster an adjustment made by you will be herd as a difference in sound.
The buffer is initially set to 500ms. This means it will give your PC 500ms to process changes you make. The faster your PC, the more you can reduce the size of the buffer. The smaller the buffer the quicker changes made by you will be herd. If the buffer is set too small distortion will occur. Try a value of 200ms.
Setting the buffer
To adjust the buffer double click on deck 2's spectrum analyzer, a menu will appear. Left click on the buffer text area. Use the keyboard to type a new value into it, then press set buffer. The new value will take effect the next time you press the play button.
Press CLOSE to close the menu. |
