Record Settings

DJ Legend has a high quality audio recorder. The audio recorder is not dedicated for use with DJ Legend only, the audio recorder can be used to record any sound on your PC and also any external audio source and internet radio. The audio recorder can record sound in the following formats MP3, WAV and WMA. The recorded sound quality and record volume can be adjusted. The audio recorder has an auto file naming function, This can be used to prevent accidentally recording over existing files.

The Default Record Settings

When DJ Legend is first installed the record settings are set to default. The default settings are as follows -

Auto file naming = ON
File type = MP3
Record volume = 60%
Bit per sample =16
Channel = stereo
Sample freq = 44100 Hz
Device = first in list [this is the mixer or sound card(s) on your system]
Input = first in list [this is the input(s) that the mixer or selected sound card supports]

Creating a recording & Auto File Naming

To start a recording we first need something to record. Play some music in DJ Legend or any media player. Or connect to your favorite radio station. Then press DJ Legend's REC button.

After about 30 seconds stop the recording by pressing DJ Legend's ST button.

Because the Auto File Naming is switched on and because DJ legend is using the default settings, the recorded file will be placed on your desktop and the files name will be -

_file_HH-MM-SS_1.mp3

Where HH MM SS is the time the recording was started. and _1 is the file number.

If you press REC again and then press ST when you have finished recording, a second file will be created on your desktop. The files name will be -

_file_HH-MM-SS_2.mp3

Where HH MM SS is the time the recording was started. and _2 is the file number.

See example below:

REC was pressed at this time 13:52:57 then ST was pressed to end the recording. The file will be named _file_13-52-57_1.mp3

REC was pressed at this time 13:58:01 then ST was pressed to end the recording. The file will be named _file_13-58-01_2.mp3

REC was pressed at this time 14:05:23 then ST was pressed to end the recording. The file will be named _file_14-05-23_3.mp3

The above is an example of the Auto File Naming function. All you had to do to start a recording was press REC. You did not have to worry about naming the file or where the file would be placed. When you pressed REC the second time to make a second recording you did not have to worry about over writing the previous recording.

Play back the recordings you have made.

After playing back your first two recordings you might want to alter the record volume or record quality. You can also change the file type and destination folder.
