Architecture

SoftPerfect Traffic Meter operates within the following architectures:

  1. The Operating System can be either Windows 98/ME or Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/2003. The monitoring service is always running, but under Windows 98/ME, monitoring starts when the system is up and after a user is logged on. Under Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 the software starts as a service when the system starts up even when no user is logged on.
  2. The software requires at least one Ethernet card or a modem. After you install the software you should configure it to start monitoring. For this you may need administrator rights. Please note that SoftPerfect Traffic Meter does not support modem monitoring under Windows NT 4.0.
  3. The software requires Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) and Microsoft Jet Database Engine (JET). Most systems running Windows 2000 and higher have these components. If your system does not have MDAC and JET you can download these at no charge from the Microsoft Web-Site.
