Advanced Pronunciation Editor

The Advanced Pronunciation Editor provides advanced control over pronunciations of words that are not pronounced correctly by Text-To-Speech engines. When using the Advanced Editor, you correct the pronunciation of words by specifying "phonemes" that instruct the engine how each part of the word should sound.

The Advanced Pronunciation Editor is available only if you set the SAPI Version field (see Engines / Voices panel) to "Use SAPI5 Only". The phoneme editor is not implemented for SAPI4 voices.

Accessing the Advanced Pronunciation Editor

  • On the Engines / Voices Options Panel, set SAPI Version to "Use SAPI5 Only"
  • From the menu, select Options -> Pronunciation Editor
  • Click the "Advanced Editor" tab.

The following fields are available in the Advanced Pronunciation Editor
