HotKey Setup

From the menu, select Options -> HotKey Setup

The following HotKeys can be configured:

HotKey Description
Import New Creates an article in TextAloud from selected text in your application.
Speak Text Causes TextAloud to speak the selected text in your application. The Speak Text HotKey does not create an article from the selected text.
Pause / Resume Speaking Use this HotKey to Pause and Resume speaking.
Stop Speaking Use this HotKey to Stop speaking.
Proofread Use this HotKey to copy selected text into a window specially designed for proofreading.

Tips

The Import New and Speak HotKeys can be used to bypass the clipboard prompt for moving text into TextAloud. If the clipboard prompt is getting in the way, you can temporarily disable the clipboard (see Clipboard Configuration Options), and use these HotKeys instead.

Notes

When defining HotKeys, be sure to use key combinations that are not already used by Windows or any applications you use. For example, do not assign Ctrl+C as a HotKey, since this key combination is used by Windows for writing to the clipboard.
