Multi-Article Mode

In Multi-Article Mode, each article created in TextAloud is added to a list of articles. Use this mode to have TextAloud accumulate a list of articles to be read at a later time.

Setting Multi-Article Mode

Perform any one of these actions to place TextAloud in Multi-Article Mode.

  • Press the Multi button on the toolbar.
  • From the menu, select Options -> Multi Article.
  • Right click the TextAloud icon in the System Tray, and select Options->Multi Article.

Navigating the Article List

  • Use the Article Dropdown List, located beneath the toolbar.
  • Use the Outer Scrollbar to scroll the article list. An Inner Scrollbar may be present for scrolling within individual articles.

Setting Multi-Article Options

  • From the menu, select Options -> TextAloud Options
  • Select the Article Options panel.

The following fields are available on the Multi-Article Options panel

Field Name Description
Voice Selection Default - The default voice is always assigned to new articles.

Random - A random voice from your currently enabled voices is assigned to new articles.

Round Robin - Voices for new articles are assigned sequentially from your currently enabled voices.

File Output Determines the number of files written when generating audio files for multiple articles. Use Single File to write all articles to one audio file. Use Multiple Files to generate an audio file for each article.
Automatically Delete Text after play If this option is checked, TextAloud will automatically delete articles as they are spoken.

Notes

In Multi-Article Mode, the "Speak" and "To File" buttons on the toolbar process all articles in the list. To process only the currently selected article, use the "Speak" and "Speak to File" buttons located on the panel under the toolbar.
