Single-Article Mode

In Single-Article Mode, each article copied into TextAloud replaces the previous article. Use this mode if you want to listen to individual articles as they are copied from the Windows Clipboard. In this mode you also have the option of having TextAloud automatically read articles as they are copied.

Setting Single-Article Mode

Perform any one of these actions to place TextAloud in Single-Article Mode.

  • Press the Single button on the toolbar.
  • From the menu, select Options -> Single Article.
  • Right click the TextAloud icon in the System Tray, and select Options->Single Article.

Setting Single-Article Options

  • From the menu, select Options -> TextAloud Options
  • Select the Article Options panel.

The following fields are available on the Single-Article Options panel

Field Name Description
Voice Selection Default - The default voice is always assigned to new articles.

Random - A random voice from your currently enabled voices is assigned to new articles.

Automatically Speak New Text If this option is checked, TextAloud will automatically speak articles as they are added.
Generate Default Article Titles This option should normally be selected. Uncheck this only if you want the article title to remain fixed, instead of being regenerated for each new article.
