Generator Bar

Generator Bar is used to generate domains. It works in three modes - Manual Mode, Wizard Mode, and Advanced Mode. You may shift among the three modes by selecting Toolbar buttons Toolbar Buttons on top of Generator Bar.

More buttons in Toolbar are:

Import domain names - Import domain names or keywords from text files into Edit Box;
Export and save domain names - Export and save domain names or keywords in Edit Box as a text file;
Generate domain names - Generate domain names based on current input in Generator Bar;
Modify Rules - Modify rules to generate domain names.

Manual Mode

Manual Mode

In Manual Mode, users may manually input domain names - one domain name per line. If the domain names contain TLD, you must uncheck "Use marked TLDs of TLD bar". On the contrary, if the domain name does not contain TLD, you must check "Use marked TLDs of TLD bar", and then select suitable TLD in TLD Bar to generate domain names.

Wizard Mode

Wizard Mode

In Wizard Mode, a user must designate main keyword and theme of the domain names. If the user selects predefined theme like "Common", "Business", "Educational", "Fun", or "Sport", keywords related to the theme will be added to Edit Box. By choosing "Custom Theme" in the list, the user can also create his own theme and manage current themes. There are two kinds of keywords: one kind appears before main keyword in generated domain names, and is inputted after checking "Pad word at the beginning". The other kind appears after main keyword in generated domain names, and is inputted after checking "Pad word at the end". If you check "Pad either beginning or end word" option, keywords appear either at the beginning or at the end of generated domain names, but never appear at both positions. All the marked TLDs in TLD Bar will be used in generating domain names.

Advanced Mode

Advanced Mode

In Advanced Mode, users designate keywords and relative rules, and DomainInspect finds out all keyword combinations matching the rules to generate domain names.

Below are methods to define rules of keywords: A whole line is regarded as a synonym group consisting of several keywords separated by semicolons. A generated domain name contains just one keyword in the group. Keywords may be mandatory or optional. A mandatory keyword shall appear in any generated domain name, marked with an prefixed "+". The location of a keyword can also be designated with suffixed [order] instruction. Types of order can be "number"(location of a keyword in a domain name), "number1-number2"(location range of a keyword in a domain name), "a"(a keyword may appear anywhere in a domain name), "s"(a keyword must appear at the beginning of a domain name), "m"(a keyword must appear in the middle of a domain name), "e"(a keyword must appear at the end of a domain name), or combinations like "s-m", "m-e", and "s-e".

Take a website dealing in flowers for instance, you may define following keywords to generate its domain names:

+flower;flowers
online[s];cyber;web[a]
shop[e];store

In the instance, there are three synonym groups. In the first group, keywords "flower" and "flowers" are mandatory; either will appear in generated domain names. In the second group, all keywords are optional; "online" and "cyber" must appear at the beginning of a domain name, while "web" may be anywhere in domain names. In the last group, all keywords are optional and may appear at any position of a domain name.

DomainInspect will find out all keyword combinations matching rules, together with the marked TLDs in TLD Bar, to generate final domain names. In the instance above, if you check ".com" TLD in TLD Bar only, you'll get a list of domains like "flower-web.com", "flower-web-shop.com", and "flower-web-store.com".
